South Jersey Beaches

South Jersey Beaches
(Exits are from Garden State Parkway)

Cape May (End) - Cape May isn't your typical New Jersey beach and don't be fooled by the stereotype that NJ beaches are dirty. Cape May is an incredible beach, white sand, clean, great waves, and it has a beautiful backdrop of Victorian homes.

Wildwood Crest (Exit 4) - Just a short walk from anywhere in "the Crest," is the resort's main attraction, the beach. The more than 3 miles of clean, free, protected beaches provide plenty of room for good family fun.

Wildwood (Exit 4) - Besides plenty of space to spread out, Wildwood also offers a family-friendly atmosphere and entertaining boardwalk. Get ready for fireworks, roller coasters, and oversized stuffed animals.

North Wildwood (Exit 6) - North wildwood beach is large, beautiful, safe and clean. No beach fees, plenty of room to stretch out without feeling on top of others. Lifeguards even supply wheelchairs for handicap people to go in the ocean.

Stone Harbor (Exit 10) - With its small-town charm, laid-back shopping district and numerous restaurants, Stone Harbor offers fun for the whole family—at a slower pace than many of its Shore neighbors.

Avalon (Exit 13) - Beach and water activities highlight the daytime pleasures of an Avalon vacation.  This peaceful beachfront community is dotted with distinctive homes and beach cottages and hosts hundreds of brightly colored sailboats, sleek motor boats and comfortable yachts during the summer months.

Sea Isle City (Exit 17) - Sea Isle City is a family-friendly beach resort that seamlessly blends small-town charm with modern attractions. A welcoming community that offers something for everyone, Sea Isle is an easy choice for those in search of a vacation the entire family can enjoy.

Upper Township (Exit 17) -  One of the Jersey Shore’s best-kept) surfing secrets. Frequent sandbars create nice, long, clean breaks all summer, and the lack of crowds allows everyone to have his or her own little slice of wave heaven. This cozy 1.5-mile stretch is quiet requires no beach tags.

Ocean City (Exit N-25/S-30) - The eight miles of sandy beaches seem endless here—and so do the activities on this 2.5-mile boardwalk. It’s a family friendly dry town that offers many spacious rentals.

Somers Point (Exit 30)- The majority of beach visitors are locals with a slight mixture of day trippers and vacationers looking for Longport's quieter atmosphere from Atlantic City. There is a large number of Hotels/Motels serving the area though most of them are located on the major roads in Somers Point.

Margate (Exit 36) –Margate City is the home of Lucy the Elephant, a six story historic landmark, is the "largest elephant in the world." Marven Gardens, of Monopoly board game fame, is also located there.

Longport (Exit 36) – It is best known for it's multi-million dollar homes. In fact, the median home cost in Longport is almost $2 million. Longport is known as a quiet and peaceful beach community, less hectic than any of the towns to the north. The beach at Longport is small, but impeccably clean with opportunities for sunbathing, kayaking, and surfing.

Stone Harbor (Exit 36) - Nestled midway along the Jersey Cape's thirty miles of breathtaking beach front, Stone Harbor has been attracting visitors to its unique vacation resort for more than 75 years.

Atlantic City (Exit 38) - The most famous boardwalk in New Jersey belongs to Atlantic City. Some travelers don’t know that there is also a great beach here. So go ahead and eat your salt water taffy, but don’t forget about splashing around or building a sand castle with your kids too.

Brigantine (Exit 40) – a beautiful, pristine hideaway for families seeking a safe, peaceful haven. Our community is naturally friendly. Cultured events and recreational activities provide the opportunity to enjoy quality time with family, friends and visitors.

Ventnor (Exit 40) – Ventnor City has large well maintained beaches that are almost always less crowded than their Atlantic City neighbor but still offer visitors and residents the same soft, white sand and great opportunities for swimming, surfing, kayaking and sail boating.

Long Beach Island (Exit 63) – It has white sand beaches, relaxed atmosphere, and many dining and nightlife options too. LBI allows your family to kick back and enjoy simple beach pleasures.
